Jean Floc'h was born on a farm and left school at fourteen, despite promising success, to work on the farm before leaving for Algeria to complete his military service. Upon his return, he became a truck driver and pig purchaser for a Coopagri subsidiary.
He rapidly understood that the off-land farming of pigs could provide additional wages for farmers, who could no longer survive on mixed farming alone. His sturdy brittany character and strength of conviction inspired farmers. He resigned and, after a professional interlude, joined Sébastien Coupé at the Cooperl to begin a remarkable adventure. One year later, he met Bernard Marchand, his future partner in success.
At 45, he decided to invest all he had to become an owner and, with backing from his bankers, he acquired the Locminé abattoir, an old plant that would become the springboard for an industrial group. In 2008, the group has 9 production sites, with 1,600 employees and achieves sales of €440 million.
Visionary manufacturer and leader of men, he has transmitted strong values to the teams that succeeded him and who are proud to carry his name.
