Pork Chops with Apples and Cider

Ingredients :

    4 people

    • 4 large pork chops
    • 5 apples
    • 40g butter
    • 30g sugar
    • 1 clove of garlic - crushed
    • 1 shallot – finely sliced
    • 10cl dry cider
    • 1ltr water
    • vegetable oil

Method :

1.             Dice and core 3 apples, fry them in half of the butter, add castor sugar and water, cover and cook for 10 minutes.

2.            Season the chops and in a little oil and butter mixed, brown the chops on both sides.

3.            Add the shallot and garlic and cook the chops through for about 10 minutes.

4.            Place the cooked chops in a shallow dish and cover with the apple mixture.  Slice the remaining apple and arrange on top.

5.            Put the dish into a hot oven for 12 mins.

6.            Remove from the oven, pour over the cider, add a good knob of butter and serve.
